harvest for a painting

This morning, quite early, Queenie and I had a walk on the allotments. There is nothing unusual about this as we go at least once a day to water, potter, collect produce, or just have a walk. This morning the aim was to have a good walk and nosey at what other people have been doing, to collect the huge blackberries that are suddenly available at virtually every turn - in common areas I hasten to add and to collect some produce from our allotment for a painting I am working on at the moment. I have become a demon painter for the last few weeks. Before that I was a constant painter. I gathered some spinach, red kale and crinkly cabbage and some extras for the chicken and we headed home. I then looked round the garden and collected green beans, carrots, a small courgette and some Mar Monde tomatoes and of course some eggs and laid them all in the basket my mum gave me. I have spent all day drawing and painting this wonderful harvest and have just taken a picture of it so we can eat some of it for our tea.
